In the agricultural machinery manufacturing industry of Siping, there is an entrepreneur deeply committed to the black soil. Starting out as a carpenter, he has devoted more than a decade to solving the challenge of turning crop residues into valuable resources and revitalizing agricultural waste, steadfastly upholding the spirit of craftsmanship. Under his leadership, his company has overcome significant technical hurdles, setting a benchmark for the industry and using intelligent agricultural machinery to protect the black land and boost rural revitalization. His early career in carpentry instilled in Wei Desheng a deep sense of craftsmanship and a profound attachment to his rural roots. In 2010, witnessing the underutilization of straw resources in his hometown—valuable materials being wasted needlessly—he resolved to develop agricultural machinery for straw utilization, turning waste into treasure. In 2012, Siping Shunbang Agricultural Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was established, marking the official start of Wei Desheng’s entrepreneurial journey in agricultural machinery manufacturing. As Wei Desheng puts it: “Every time I see our local straw resources going to waste, my heart burns with urgency. I must do something concrete for my hometown—build specialized machinery for straw utilization that transforms discarded straw into valuable resources. This will not only protect our fertile black soil but also ease the burden on livestock farmers, genuinely helping our fellow villagers increase their incomes and achieve prosperity.”
Wei Desheng’s entrepreneurial journey has been fraught with hardship. In the early stages of R&D, faced with dual pressures—financial constraints and technological challenges—he steadfastly adhered to the principle: “Better to delay market entry by two years than to compromise on product quality.” ” Driven by this conviction, he resolutely discarded two batches of substandard prototypes and led his team through hundreds of rounds of testing and refinement, ultimately achieving the successful launch of the first-generation straw-feed baling machine in 2013.
Today, Shunbang Agricultural Machinery’s product lineup has evolved to its 14th generation. Leveraging proprietary core technologies, its straw-and-feed baling machine has maintained the top spot in national sales for nine consecutive years, with a market share exceeding 60%, and has been recognized as a “National Agricultural Machinery Brand Satisfying Users.” The company has also emerged as an industry leader, holding more than 60 patents and boasting several technologies that are domestically leading. In addition, the company is closely aligning with the trend toward intelligentization by integrating Beidou-based smart networking and incorporating IoT technologies, thereby making agricultural machinery smarter and more efficient.

For more than a decade, Wei Desheng has steadfastly leveraged his industrial ventures to support and revitalize his hometown. To date, over 13,000 Shunbang agricultural machines have been deployed in the fields, reducing carbon emissions by 12 million tons annually and effectively establishing a robust “straw-to-meat” value chain. This initiative has not only significantly eased the labor burden on livestock farmers but has also boosted farmers’ annual incomes by more than RMB 300 million, achieving a win-win outcome that balances ecological conservation with improved livelihoods.
Currently, Shunbang Agricultural Machinery is vigorously advancing the construction of a smart agricultural machinery base with a total investment of RMB 350 million, aiming to establish a modern, intelligent, and high-end manufacturing facility for agricultural machinery and further consolidate its leading position in the industry. At the same time, the company is actively exploring new avenues for the high-value utilization of crop straw, developing a comprehensive health-oriented agricultural value chain, and transitioning from a single-product agricultural machinery manufacturer to a provider of end-to-end solutions that empower all aspects of rural revitalization.
